Science SMART series is developed to cover comprehensively the learning outcomes of the latest Cambridge Primary curriculum framework.

Adopting the Inquiry Approach, Science SMART uses engaging visuals and presentation formats with well-crafted activities to arouse pupils’ curiosity about the world around them. This motivates pupils to learn, enabling them to better grasp key scientific concepts. At the same time, emphasis is given on developing pupils’ inquiry and process skills, critical thinking, as well as 21st Century skills. 

Science SMART Level 2 comprises the following components:

  • Textbook Level 2
  • Workbook Level 2
  • Teacher’s Guide Level 2 — Contains Scheme-of-Work, lesson plans, wraparound teacher’s notes for Textbook and Workbook, with additional information and tips on conducting and delivering effective Science lessons.
  • Additional worksheets for consolidation, fun & games, and exam practice are available online for teachers.
Together with the SMART characters. Smarty, Min, Ari, Rita and Tom, Pupils will embark on a journey of discovery through each chapter.
Level 2 Science Smart includes the following topics:
  • Living Things and Their Environment - What living things can we find around us?  What can we find in a garden?  What can we find in a pond?  What can we find on a beach?  How do environments affect living things?  Why must we care for the environment?
  • Weather and Us - What is the weather like today?  How do we describe the weather?  How does the weather affect plants and animals?  How can we predict the weather?
  • Rocks - What are rocks?  What are some types of rocks?  How can we use rocks?
  • Changing Materials - How can materials change?  How can forces change materials?  How can heat change materials?  How can cooling change materials?  How can water change materials?  What are some new materials we can get from natural materials?
  • Light and Dark, Day and Night - What are light and darkness?  Why do we need light?  What are shadows?  Why do shadows change during the day?  What makes day and night?
  • Electricity - What is electricity?  What can electricity do?  Where can we get electricity?  What is an electric circuit?  Why must we save electricity?
